Newsletter, Friday 13th October 2017

We have had a very exciting #DigitalLearningWeek at Barry Island Primary School. We have learnt to code, used Sonic Pi and generally immersed ourselves in emerging technologies. Please take a look at our twitter page for pictures of our children enjoying the week @atbarryisland. Diolch to the Digital Leaders and eCadets @ecadets who helped Mrs Evans.

Punctuality

 Please ensure your child arrives in time to start the day at 8:55 am. Give them the best possible start to the day by ensuring they are; on time, well fed and ready to be their best!

Year 5 and 6 Trip to Broadhaven. Deposits of £20 are now being taken. Please ensure you pay your deposit to the class teacher or pay via Parent Pay. Diolch!

Fruit will no longer be supplied to Year 3 and 4. Please ensure your child brings a healthy snack to school if they are in Key Stage 2. Foundation phase will continue as usual.

NO CLUBS

Please be aware that there will be no clubs next week (Monday 16th – Friday 20th October) due to parent consultations.

Parent consultations will take place next week between 3 and 5 PM. Please see the class teacher for your allocated appointment. If your appointment does not suit, the class teacher will endeavour to meet at a more convenient time/day.

Competition Time! Design     an e-safety poster celebrating what we have learnt about technology and coding in our school. The winner will be made into a canvas

PTA

The PTA has arranged a Halloween costume swap in the Cafe on 13th October. Any old/unwanted costumes that are be donated will be sold for 50p.

We will also be setting up a Christmas jumper and Christmas costumes sale! Dates to be confirmed.

Please hand in any of these items to Miss Goodman or the reception desk.

 

Savings Club

Savings Club has started in the Café on Friday mornings. New members are welcome to come along and save for trips, pocket money and more with the Credit union. Meet at 8:45 am. Further information can be obtained from Miss Goodman.
